Portrait of Princess Augusta Amalia of Bavaria (1778-1851).

Engraving, after Antonio Locatelli (c. 1800-1865); published in Milan 1808.  Le Blanc 13, a proof before inscriptions below, the name of the artist lightly scratched at lower left. Caronni was the principal student of Pietro Longhi, and a virtuoso engraver. Princess Augusta Amalia is presented here in a striking combination of sensuality and princely grandeur.
