Master M (or as he often styled himself Master M A M) may well have been a monk or friar at the Monastery of St. Trudo in Liège. He was a skilled engraver and some forty-one engravings by him are known. All are of the greatest rarity, either unique, or in no case known in more than three impressions. All of his engravings are of religious subjects, and almost exclusively devotional subjects.
